About Higgisons

Higgisons was formed by John Higgison in Oxford Street in 1965 and was originally part of the Accountancy Tuition Centre until James McHale became managing partner and the firm moved to its City Road premises in 1982.

We specialise in advising medium and smaller enterprises and we are noted for our proactive rather than reactive approach to advising our clients.

We like to become involved at the planning stage of the formation of a business venture to ensure that it is structured as flexibly and efficiently as possible so that it can cope with changes in legislation or personal circumstances.

Our taxation department has the benefit of expertise gained in the Inland Revenue and we are very fortunate to have a strong investigation specialism which enables us to regularly settle disputes with the Inland Revenue swiftly and cost effectively.

Over the years we have built up numerous relationships with various Banks and we frequently negotiate advantageous terms on behalf of our clients and assist them in the ongoing representations and monitoring.

We have a low staff turnover ratio which enables us to know our clients well and to be in a position to provide our clients with a first class service at reasonable rates.
